Annual Pineapple Festival in Gregory Town the first week in June features
a Junkaroo parade, crafts shows, dancing, a pineapple recipe contest, tours of
pineapple farms & the Pineatholon (.5 mile swim, 3 mile run & 4.5 mile bike).
Labour Union Parade - first Friday in June; a celebration of working people.
July:
Bluff Eleuthera Homecoming Celebration is an annual event that benefits
the Bluff All-Age school Library & the local community center. Enjoy that parade,
Junkanoo & rake 'n scrape music, fishing tournament, boat races, & more. Contact:

Savannah Sound Homecoming
Bahamas Summer Boating Fling/Flotilla. Join the flotilla of boats that

Emancipation Day is public holiday, also known as August Monday,
that is held on the first Monday in August to commemorate the Bahamas emancipation
from slavery in 1834.
October:
North Eleuthera Sailing Regatta is a festive five days of racing in the seas
between Harbour Island & Three-Island Bay, North Eleuthera.
November:
Guy Festival commemorates the infamous Guy Fawkes, who was executed in 1605
for his part in an unsuccessful conspiracy to blow up the House of Parliament in England.
Arts & Crafts Festival is sponsored annually by the Haynes library committee.
December:
Christmas Observances - thoughout the island at churches and schools.
Junkanoo Festivals begin in the early hours of December 26th and again in the early hours
of New Years Day (unless either falls on a Sunday). Junkanoo is uniquely Bahamian, with a big
parade and island party. While Nassau is the premier site for this celebration, many townships,
including Freeport, Harbour Island, and even Tarpum Bay have their own version of a "mini-Junkanoo"
or "rush-out."
